Hey, everyone! It’s finally October and it’s that time of year: to start drinking those pumpkin spice lattes and wearing those winter coats! 

Now… as calming and peaceful as Autumn is supposed to be, it can also be a pretty stressful time for many. We just got through the first month of school (Woohoo!) and are finally starting to get into the swing of things. However, some people (myself included), get so tired of school so fast they want to be done with it. Why? Because of 1, The workload 2, The tight schedules and 3, The overall stress of high school. We get so wrapped up in “the now” that we don’t look at the big picture! 

Julie Andrews, a world-renowned actress says that “Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.” 

Y’all, high school’s hard. However, if we stop focusing on how stressful this End-of-Module test is, or how confusing that science lesson was, or “how much homework can they possibly give us in a day?.” Instead, we need to focus on the fact that, “Hey, we only do as good as we let ourselves feel good.” We can look at school as a hassle or an opportunity for growth.

So, as you go into this next week, persevere, and remember that we just gotta take this one week at a time, and you will succeed with perseverance and hard work. As one of our teachers -Mr. Duwe- would say, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” 


I hope that whoever’s reading this finds a little more relaxation or motivation in their day/work today. We’re gonna take this path together, and I hope that these articles will be a little light that brightens up your day! Weird analogy? Yeah, I know.
